Children’s Sermon

Anyone wishing to share a children’s sermon with our young people, please e-mail Worship Committee or leave a note in the Worship Committee's mailbox in the church office.

Crib Room Volunteers

Our crib room is filling up with children so we need volunteers to help our caregiver.  If you can offer a Sunday, or would like to read a story to the children, please e-mail Christian Education or leave your name and phone number in the Christian Education's mailbox in the church office.

Hospitality - Coffee Hour

The Deacons welcome volunteers who would like to assist during the hospitality time after the Sunday service.  We set up in the kitchen and in Parish Hall at 9:30AM each Sunday. You may leave your name and a phone number in the Deacons’ mailbox in the church office or send an e-mail to Deacons.

Sanctuary Flowers

Each Sunday a member of our congregation or their family members donate the flowers for the worship service. If you would like to add to the beauty of the service while remembering family or friends, please complete a Sanctuary Flowers form or pick one up in the hallway by Parish Hall.

Poinsettias are used during the Christmas holiday season to decorate the Sanctuary. At Easter Lilies and other spring plants decorate the altar. You may purchase these plants to honor family members or friends. The forms for these special plants are placed in the “Weathervane” and in the weekly Sunday bulletins prior to the holiday. Just fill one out and put it in the Presbyterian Women's mailbox in the church office with your check.

Ushers

Ushers assist worship by greeting worshipers at the door, handing out the bulletins and, if necessary, escorting the people to their seats.  The ushers are responsible for counting the number of persons attending service and for collecting the offerings. They straighten up the pews before and after the service, collect the “ritual of fellowship pads” and discarded bulletins. If an emergency should arise during service the ushers would be called on to maintain order and render assistance if necessary.

If you are interested in ushering at a church service, please send an e-mail with your contact information to Ushers.

Worship Assistants

Worship Assistants are youth and adults who assist the Pastor during the Sunday morning worship service. They lead the congregation in the Call to Confession, the Prayer of Confession, the Assurance of Pardon and the Summary of the Law. In addition, the Worship Assistant will read the First Scripture Reading, beginning with the Prayer of Illumination, the Offertory Prayer and the leading of the reading of the Affirmation of Faith. On Communion Sundays, the Worship Assistant is an ordained church officer who also assists the Pastor in the serving of Communion. Instructions, a “Worksheet”, and the scripture reading are provided at least one week before the service to give the Worship Assistant time to review and to prepare. The Worship Assistant also is asked to meet with the pastor 30 minutes before the Sunday worship service. If you would like to assist our Pastor you may leave your name and a phone number in the Worship Committee’s mailbox in the church office or send an e-mail to Worship Committee.
