Music Program
Old First’s music program has consistently been recognized as one of the most outstanding programs on Long Island. Director of Music, Kenneth Friese and Director of Youth Choir, Diane Starost are professionals and devoted leaders of our program. There is an open invitation for new and willing singers and musicians to come and join in. The Adult choir meets on Thursday nights at 8pm. Please contact music@oldfirstchurchhuntington.org if you wish to join.
Youth Music Program
Rehearsals for the Kids Choir and the Youth Choir are on Wednesdays in the choir room. The program is as follows:
Kids Choir (grades 1-3) 5:00-5:30pm
Youth Choir (grades 4-8) 5:30-6:00pm
Choirs perform 1-2 times per month at special functions and hold a concert in May. A calendar is issued in September and in January with a list of performance dates, special events and non-rehearsal days. This calendar is also coordinated with the surrounding school district concerts, vacation days and such. Also there are several opportunities for instrumentalists to participate. Please e-mail youthchoir@oldfirstchurchhuntington.org if you are interested. The Kids/Youth Choir form is available online and at the church office as well. Completed forms should be placed in the Music mailbox in the church office.
