Fall Fair

Fall Fair Quilt Photo Gallery

Each Fall on a Saturday in November a wonderful all-day Fair is held at Old First Church.  Church and community members donate collectibles, clothing, rummage, toys, kitchen items, holiday decorations, jewelry, baked goods, and books to be sold in support of local, national and international mission projects supported by Presbyterian Women.

White Elephant and Books occupy the basement. Rummage and Silent Auction are found on the main floor. The Country Store, Jewelry, Holiday Crafts, Linens, Toys and Boutique are on the second floor.  A delectable lunch is served in the Parish Hall.

Along with OFC Presbyterian Women the Fair involves church and community members working together resulting in an exciting and productive day.  The monies raised on Fair Day enable Presbyterian Women to make donations:

Locally to the:

  • Family Service League
  • Huntington Community Council
  • LI Women’s Coalition-Safe Harbor Shelter
  • Huntington Freedom Center, Meals on Wheels
  • VNS Hospice
  • Northport, Old First Church – The Learning Center
  • Old First Church – Benevolences
  • Huntington Interfaith Homeless Initiative (HIHI)
  • Tri Community Youth Agency, Inc.

Nationally to the:

  • Presbyterian World Service (Disaster Relief)
  • NY Theological Seminary Prison Project
  • Cook College (Native American)
  • Fivers Children’s foundation
  • Presbyterian Women’s Health Ministries

Internationally to the:

  • ECPAT-USA (combating child prostitution)
  • Church World Service (Disaster Relief)
  • Ecumenical Development Cooperative Society
  • Presbyterian Church of Havana, Cuba

In addition to donating items, you can help by serving on a committee, sorting the donations, setting up the various booths, or working on Fair day.  Just watch for announcements about these opportunities or contact the Fall Fair. YOU ARE NEEDED. There is a great spirit among the volunteers working at the Fair.  An added bonus – you will make new friends and renew old friendships.

And remember you are welcome to join members of Circle 4 who construct a quilt which is donated to the Fall Fair or the Crafts Circle members who create beautiful gifts for the Holiday Crafts booth!

Live Auction

Leading up to the November fair is the OFC Live Auction which takes place in the Parish Hall of the church. Donations can range from an antique to a service, from “pumpkin pie” to a piece of jewelry.  A professional auctioneer handles the bidding and the evening is fun for “bidders” and “watchers!”  Along with donations from our supportive Huntington business community these items enable Presbyterian Women to maintain their level of mission giving.
