1739 Wesley breaks with Anglican Church
 Wesley was concerned with people who were
not in church and who were lost to their sins  Began preaching outside of the church  Realized that trained and ordained clergy were not the only people called to ministry so he created lay preachers  Led to success of Methodist Church in England and US

by their faith in Christ  Christians can be made perfect in love  Believers motives instead of being self centered were guided by a deep desire to please God  Regard for others and welfare first.
