The text DOES NOT identify the snake as Satan The text does not say that evil came into the world this way Brueggemann± The Old Testament is not interested in these issues Reflection on how to live in God¶s world Reflection on obedience Does knowledge come at a high cost? Is temptation necessarily the same thing as evil?

Job is really a treatise on suffering What is the meaning of suffering? Evil is not a concern in Job

1:6 Heavenly beings came before God and presented themselves HUH????? One theory««.. Actually a divine council of heavenly beings ruled by God One of these beings is Satan Satan is the eyes and ears of God as he walks on the earth seeing what is going on God is posing a question to Satan which is does Job worship God because of what God gave him or because of who God is?
