PW's Purpose

Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:

To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible study
To support the mission of the church worldwide
To work for justice and peace
To build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witnesses to the promise of God’s Kingdom

The Old First Church Presbyterian Women’s Board meets in the Fiske room at 10:00 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month, September through May.  In June, we have a Luncheon and then break for the summer.  Positions are held for a term of one year, June 1 to May 31, with nominations held in the Spring for the following year’s term.  Meetings are open to all women of the church and all women present have a vote.

Women of the church come together on a regular basis for fellowship, study and involvement in the church in groups called Circles.  You may participate in any Circle. Please become an active member if you can or join in any group as your schedule permits.

“For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another.  We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us.”    - Romans 12: 4-8 NRSV
