The Book of Order states that the responsibilities of the Deacons are to include ministering to those who are in need, to the sick, to the friendless, and to any who may be in distress, whether or not they are members of our church.
To manage and support their ministries of compassion, service, care-giving and love, the Deacons have committees divided among four areas of concern: Care of Church members, Community ministries, Fund raising, and Hospitality.
The Board of Deacons is chaired by the moderator and meets monthly from September to June. Each deacon has particular leadership responsibilities, assists in the overall work of the Board, and also serves on a church committee.
